The three ways you get stronger
| What | Where it comes from | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Stat points | Every level up | Raise one of six stats — 1 point = +1, no matter how high the stat already is |
| Trait points | Raeven’s Coilstones, each guarded by a boss | Spend in each weapon’s trait tree: stat nodes, new skills, or changes to existing skills |
| Max HP | Nui Tears turned in at a Nui Statue | More HP; each increase costs a few more tears than the last |
On top of that: gear (from chests, field bosses and crafting), accessories (field bosses and Hersander’s Tower) and Lunastones — four new Lunastones were added for Early Access.
The six stats
| Stat | What it raises |
|---|---|
| Strength | Physical attack |
| Agility | Critical hit chance, plus some physical attack |
| Constitution | HP and resistance to critical hits |
| Intelligence | Magic attack |
| Talent | Some magic attack, and lets you use better equipment without penalties |
| Endurance | Stamina and defense |
The character screen shows how your attack, crit and other numbers will change before you lock points in. For Early Access you can also hold a stat button to add points continuously.
Weapon traits: builds live here
- Each weapon type has its own trait tree. A Warrior’s Longsword tree and Greatsword tree are completely separate.
- Nodes are stat boosts, new skills, or changes to an existing skill. Paths branch, so two players with the same weapon can fight very differently.
- The developers’ example with the Greatsword: an aggressive branch unlocks Armor Break and turns Sunder into Sweeping Slash (two hits, wider arc); a defensive branch adds Pummel Strike, usable while guarding, which grants a damage-absorbing shield.
- New stat nodes were added to Traits for Early Access, and costs and tree layouts may keep changing based on feedback.
Where to find Coilstones, Nui Tears and loot

- Raeven’s Coilstones: always near a strong boss — open-world, hidden, or quest-only. If you see a Coilstone, expect a fight. Stuck on a boss? Go find another Coilstone, spend the trait points, and come back.
- Nui Tears: tucked all over the open world. Bring them to any Nui Statue (the same statues you use to switch PvP channels).
- Treasure chests: from plain sight to behind waterfalls; they hold gear, rare crafting recipes and more. Once per character, so nobody can take yours.
- Field bosses: roam the open world, a clear step up from nearby monsters. They drop gear, accessories and crafting materials you can’t get anywhere else.
Hersander’s Tower and the Hereafter Challenge
- Every zone hides a set of Hersander’s Towers. Hersander, the god of gambling, gives a riddle describing the item he wants as an offering.
- Satisfy every tower in a zone to get a unique accessory and unlock the Hereafter Challenge: a random, souped-up version of one of that zone’s bosses, against the clock.
- Clear times go on a leaderboard, so you’re racing other players.
Dungeons
- Instanced for you or a party of up to four, with quest progress shared inside. You can also go solo.
- For Early Access, dungeon and instance progress survives a disconnect in every region, and some solo-only dungeon sections can now be played in a party.
- The demo’s extra-hard dungeon was Throne of Hinnon, with a hidden key.
